  • I understand that one thing the movie gets right is the Red tails were used very effectively to protect the bombers. My uncle was a B24 navigator and he loved the tuskeegee's, he said they stayed with them and the white guys always wanted to chase the german fighters.

  • the reason she was found not guilty is because the prosecution pushed for the death penalty on a case based on circumstantial, at best, evidence. It was most likly involuntary manslaughter but with the death penalty as an option, the whole bath water was thrown out

  • For a veteran you know little. Colin powell stated often that we should never be out gunned. never shoukd we go in with too few troop. Rumsfeld did it on the cheap. Too few feet on the ground.

  • dmd, somewhere in there you seem to have the notion that 9/11 and the iraq war are somehow connected. It has been disproven so many times as to be boring that Saddam had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11.

  • it was Bush's decision to spend the money on Iraq and encourage the American people to continue on and spend spend spend. But on the iraq war, certainly even if we disagree on whether we should ever have gone there, you cannot be so blind as to think that it was intelligently pursued.

  • Forest, sounds like we may have a similar background. I was doing due diligence for an investment firm securitizing lonas back in the 90's. We visited one bank that was doing mortgages primarily to poor blacks, charging 12-14% interest, 10-12 points financed in, lending 25-30% on refinances.

  • The housing mess was not just Democrats or Republicans, not just FNMA or FHMLC nor just Wall Street. It developed over many years. It was partly greed, on the part of lenders, buyers, brokers, appaisers.

  • Can't believe Atlanta didn't get top billing. In Dunwoody, a mega suburb of Atlanta, I 285 and 400 come together along with a huge shopping center and many office buildings and aparment complexes. I turned right out of my office parking lot not realizing what was going on.

  • I don't think it is a good idea to tell teens that it can take 4-6 months to conceive with unprotected sex. I know many examples of one and done

  • A real issue with Wall Street is that there are many instruments trading that do nothing but create commissions over and over. Credit default swaps for instance do not create anything new, it is not an investment.
